SUMMARY: Experience the history and splendor Edinburgh’s Old and New Towns, which together form one of Scotland’s six UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Whether you are a lover of history, literature, science, architecture or art, or just want a relaxing but informative guided walk through the highlights of Scotland’s capital city, we can design your private tour around your interests.

ITINERARY: We will meet you at your accommodation, or location of your choice, and commence our walking tour of Edinburgh. The exact route and sites of each tour can be tailored to match your specific interests, however we find that a tour of Edinburgh’s Old and New Towns will provide something to interest everyone.
For lovers of history, Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse are musts, but so too are lesser-known areas such as the Grassmarket and the narrow alleys and closes of Old Edinburgh. Lovers of literature will feel equally home here, as they were also the haunts of Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson and Rabbie Burns.
Lovers of architecture will certainly with to explore the New Town, with its splendid classical Georgian architecture. This was also home to some of Edinburgh’s most famous scientists and thinkers, such as David Hume, James Young Simpson and James Clerk-Maxwell.
Lunch can be taken in one of Edinburgh’s many traditional pubs or superb new restaurants. Our day together will be tailored according to your interests and set at a pace that is perfect for you.
OVERNIGHT STOPS & ACCOMMODATION: We will be happy to recommend suitable overnight accommodation. The tour can also be extended to explore Edinburgh in more depth or to venture further afield to neighboring sites of interest for those clients with more time available in Scotland.
