Alasdair created a fantastic itinerary for my short visit to the Highlands to see where my family is from. He’s personable and intelligent gentleman whom I very much enjoyed spending time with and I recommend him. We went from visiting kirkyards to castles to a farm, giving me a tour of the whole area, with discussions about what farming is like there now(a special interest of mine).

I left my visit feeling that my goals for the trip were met with aplomb.

Kirsty, I cannot thank you enough for making our first trip to Scotland, and Jack's birthday, absolutely perfect. Without you, this would not have been possible. Gill is an ideal tour guide, a great travelling companion, fun to spend time with but always professional.She is a super driver and I never felt nervous. She not only comprehensively described historical events, but detailed contemporary ecological, environmental, social and cultural aspects of the areas we visited and traveled through. This gave me a complete “then and now” perspective on the highlands. 

We chatted with local people in various locations and establishments, which gave me insights into community concerns. Visits to castles and cathedrals were complemented by cemeteries and natural sites.  Gill kept us on track, let me know options, but I was happy to take her suggestions. A tour with Gill into the remote and sparsely populated highlands is a perfect “pandemic holiday”

Pauline Corrigan was the most wonderful, thoughtful, insightful and fun guide we have had in the course of our many travels around the world. We have had many really good guides but never one as fabulous as Pauline. We travelled with a small group of 5 around Edinburgh and Glasgow for 5 days. Every day was great. We are so grateful to her and it is the first time that leaving a guide was truly sad.

We had a great trip, and the Quiraing walk was one of the highlights! We have talked with many of our friends about our wonderful time in Scotland, and we have already begun thinking about our next walking trip.

Just got back from our day out with Alaisdar Brodie - he was spectacular!  Please tell the people at [the Destination Management Company] that he was great and should be their top guide in this area.  Super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, well organized, just can't say enough about how much we all enjoyed the day.

This was a marvelous adventure! I paid my first visit to Scotland in October and was stunned by my feelings of homecoming. Of course, in a way, it was just that. My grandfather came to the US in 1905, emigrating from Crail, Fifeshire and his wife to be emigrated from Edinburgh in 1903. She was a Sutherland and he a Fraser of Lovat. So what could be more fitting than an Outlander Tour. It doesn't hurt that I am a major fan of all things Outlander. My daughter arranged a private 1-day Outlander tour with Lennie Fuller of Select Scotland Tours and we couldn't have been more happy with the outcome. Lennie is very personable, well informed and capable. We made twelve stops that day and were treated to both history of the site and where it fit into the Outlander series. I heartily recommend both Lennie and Select Scotland Tours.

After a disappointing experience with another company, I decided to check out the official Scotland Tour Guide site and luckily found Lennie. I simply cannot believe our good fortune, and our day tour of a DOZEN outlander filming locations with Lennie's expert knowledge, professional demeanor, and carefully planned schedule and route were truly remarkable.

He was prompt with his responses and met us with a comfortable passenger fan for an unforgettable day tour crafted on behalf of my mom -- a huge Outlander fan. My husband wanted a scotch tasting -- so Lennie had us stop at a distillery used in the Outlander filming! We also enjoyed a quaich friendship ceremony at one of the tour highlights. 

At each location, Lennie not only gave us real historical background, but thorough knowledge of how the location was used for the set. My husband is a Hollywood film location scout, and commented to me afterward about how Lennie gave us exactly the right amount of info and time to enjoy it on our own before moving on to the next location -- and I couldn't agree more. 

What's more -- Lennie followed up with a list of all the locations we visited for a personal memento AND gave us additional recommendations for the rest of our driving tour of Scotland, which we followed as much as we possibly could. None of them disappointed!

I cannot overstate how much I encourage you to hire Lennie and Select Scotland Tours for your visits!

The best way to describe our tour is "Worlds-class". Aidan went above and beyond during our tour. He was punctual, polite, and incredibly knowledgeable. He was always able to offer multiple recommendations when asked. He also helped us arrange tours, lunch & dinner reservations. The vehicle was new/ clean, ample and able accommodate 6 adults with lots of luggage. In the end, his friendly demeanor is what made our journey truly memorable. I highly recommend his services; and when we go back to Scotland, he will be the only person I will consider.

I went on a 10 day adventure in Scotland with my sister and my parents to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We had an incredible trip, made so because we had Ross Hendrie as our guide. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge about Scottish history, geology, wildlife, whisky, language, and culture. We joked that we'd only stumped him once on one of our many questions. He guided us from Edinburgh up through the western Highlands and then back over and down to Edinburgh. The drives were fascinating and stunning. He was able to adapt with weather changes easily and quickly. He was extremely patient with our many questions and he felt like a 5th family member by the end of the trip. I couldn't recommend him more highly. Everything was top notch.

Aidan Bell was our Select Scotland Tours guide for two unforgettable days in the Scottish Highlands that included transport from Edinburgh to Finzean in Aberdeenshire, as well as tours of Falkland, St. Andrews, the Tomnaverie Stone Circle, the Migvie Kirk, Clava Cairns, Culloden and Loch Ness. 

To see the University of St. Andrews through the eyes of an alumni like Aidan was priceless. At every stop and through all the miles in between, Aidan's depth of knowledge, including how to evade crowds, made all the difference to our experiences. Some of the most powerful relate to things he chose for us that don't show up on websites or guidebooks. Best of all, his status as a Blue Badge guide enabled him to accompany us closely at all sites. 

By the end of our time together, we had been given rare insight into what it is to have a lifetime in the midst of all this beauty and heritage. Highly recommended!

I was traveling on my own to Scotland and wanted to visit several areas that were outside of Edinburgh. I didn't want to rent a car, because I'm not comfortable driving on the left side. I also wanted someone knowledgeable in history and Outlander, because I was determined to visit some of the locations where they filmed the series based on Diana Gabaldon's books. I did some research and was comfortable hiring Lennie from Select Scotland Tours. We covered over 25 locations in three days. We drove comfortably in a Land Rover. The attention to detail was impressive. He had access to areas not available to the general public. He also took pictures of my experience, which he then provided. It was a treat to see candid pictures of me in complete awe of the locations weeks after the tour. It was like experiencing the trip all over again via a different lense. The prices were okay, but in retrospect, well worth it. I felt safe and completely happy. I was never rushed, and I got to spend as much time as I wanted at each location. Select Scotland Tours offer whisky tours, castle tours, golf and fishing trips and in my case, an Outlander tour. It was a perfect trip.

Just got back to the States. Thank you [Lennie] again for the tour. I couldn't have imagined a better experience! I fell in love with Scotland and the Highlands. Didn't want to leave! I will make sure to contact you on my return trip.
